A sweetly simple long-sleeved 1970s-does-Victorian black crepe turtleneck, with dropwaist, flared skirt, back zipper and seven self covered buttons at the wrist, embellished / mended with a green felt appliqué. Size 6/8 (original size marked 10)
Measurements: Bust 36", Waist 30", length 44"
STORY: I loved the shape and simplicity of this dress, so got it despite the fact it had been compromised by moths. Well, I almost got it because of that, such is my love of Visible Mending. So I cut out a green felt patch in the shape of that famous Avedon pic of Dovima with elephants, and gave her a ball to play with because she seemed to need it (and there was another moth hole). Then sewed it on with contrast blanket stitch. I like how it came out. But I don't like the dress on me, as it turns out.
