An exquisitely beautiful black silk satin gown, deceptively simple, especially when seen from the front when it appears to be a plain crew necked black sleeveless column (the necklace does not belong to it!). Turn around, however, and here's a 16" deep V symmetrically gathered into a point above the small of the back, and the whole thing is cut on the bias in four pieces. As you'd expect from Mr de la Renta in his prime, the quality and workmanship is top of the line. Note there are slight slight pulls on parts of the satin on the left side, and the left hip--guessing that's from an evening purse. It's barely noticeable. Made in USA, dry clean only, size 6
Measurements: Bust 36", Hip 36", Length 61", shoulder 14"
ED NOTE: This gown originally cost many thousands, and was put on sale by Nina at $1,100.
STORY: Another piece from the atelier of my friend Oscar. This was particularly lovely to wear since it felt utterly effortless. I hope it brings you as much pleasure!
