Description
Can't believe I'm parting with: A dark blue, faux-fur coat, fully lined in acetate. No label. It has been judged as from the 50s to the late 60s/early 70s, hard to know more without a label. Inherited from family member. I've worn this coat for years and years and years, but the outside does not show it. However, there are the following signs of total fashion love: one of the pockets has a hole in it, all the original buttons have been resewn, and the top most button has been replaced but doesn't match the rest of the buttons. In fact, when I was looking to find buttons like this, several stores offered to buy those buttons from me: they look like blackberries, but they're really knots. But before you think you're getting some fancy buttons: my vintage fashion maven friend said they were just plastic, people probably liked them, they're not fancy material or anything. They are unusual. Incredibly warm, and the colour is its most interesting quality: changes in the light from darkest blue to lighter shade of dark blue. LOVE IT. Warm enough to wear over a sweater.
