Collectable Stephen Sprouse Warhol Mini

FROM OBERON SINCLAIR'S CLOSET

A statement piece or what? This is a Stephen Sprouse 1998 mini skirt of cotton with 2% Lycra in baby blue and ballet pink featuring Andy Warhol's instantly recognizable features in stark black. It's got a concealed side zip and no waistband, very simple style: it's all about the face. Size 42, made in Italy, so an Italian 42 which is meant to be a 6, but see below to be sure, and note the waist sits low. There's a tiny stain on the lower back by Andy's mouth--see the shot here--but it's really not noticeable. Similar pieces go for many hundreds on Ebay and 1st Dibs--if they ever come up. But I want it to be worn and loved.

Measurements: Waist 32", hip 37", length 14"

STORY: Sprouse was the downtown fashion world punk designer darling who died way too young, and this is a rare piece from his final collection (that wasn't a collab, with Target, Diesel or Vuitton), a brief comeback in partnership with the Warhol estate that didn't stick, nor sell well at the time, but which is now totally sought after. I knew him, and snapped this up at the time, but finally had to admit it isn't my thing.
